The Mission of the Sustainability Committee is assist the Georgian Sustainability, Energy and Finance Industries to harmonise with the global emerging challenges concerning the way modern business interacts and affects the environment.
A key challenge would be to highlight the importance of the concept of sustainability by identifying the key elements of sustainability, exploiting the governing best practices from leading organisations such as the UN, the European Union and other major political or economic organisations and align them with the Georgian legislation and norms.

Maia brings over 19 years of experience in consulting and audit services. Since joining BDO Georgia in 2005, she has advanced through various roles, from auditor to Audit Director, and currently serves as a Partner and Head of Business Advisory and BDO Academy. Her advisory work spans large enterprises and SMEs across diverse sectors. In January 2023, Maia became Chair of the Sustainability Committee at the European Business Association in Georgia, and in February 2023, she joined the Green Economy Transition working group at the Investors Council in Georgia. Maia has been a professional member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors since April 2019. She has served on the board of the Independent Valuers Society of Georgia since January 2017.
From January 2019 to November 2021, Maia held roles as an independent member of the Supervisory Board, Head of the Audit Committee, and member of the Risk Committee at JSC ProCredit Bank. Maia holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and she graduated from Warwick Business School with an Executive Diploma in Strategy and Innovation.
