EBA Sustainability Committee visit at McDonalds Georgia

To mark Earth Day, the European Business Association (EBA) Sustainability Committee successfully conducted an exclusive visit to the McDonald’s “Green Restaurant” on Gotua Street.

The event was organized as part of a strategic initiative where EBA member companies exchange best practices and European standards to accelerate the ecological transformation of Georgia’s business sector. Participants explored how the integration of sustainable infrastructure has transitioned from a voluntary gesture to a fundamental necessity for long-term competitiveness in today’s economic landscape.

Highlights of the Visit:

  • Eco-Innovation Presentation: Members received detailed insights into McDonald’s strategies for plastic reduction and the implementation of eco-friendly packaging.
  • Green Technology Tour: Attendees inspected the facility’s sustainable features, including its vertical greenery systems, solar energy panels, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Strategic Networking: The visit provided a professional platform for decision-makers and CSR leaders to discuss practical solutions for integrating international “green” standards into local operations.

Mariam Kuchuloria, Managing Director of the European Business Association (EBA): “The European Business Association remains committed to fostering innovation through knowledge sharing. This initiative by our Sustainability Committee is vital because it creates a live platform for companies to learn from one another on-site. Visiting the McDonald’s Green Restaurant on Earth Day was highly symbolic; we believe that when leading international brands share their expertise, it significantly accelerates the entire business sector’s transition toward a green economy.”

Elene Baghaturia, Head of Marketing at McDonald’s Georgia: “Our collaboration with the EBA is of profound importance as it allows us to share international experience and collectively contribute to society’s well-being. By connecting with European and local business circles through the Association, we continue to implement innovative and responsible projects. At McDonald’s, we view sustainable development as a shared responsibility. We hope that sharing our best practices today will serve as an inspiration for others to adopt similar initiatives that benefit both the environment and the community.”
