The event brought together representatives of the Georgian Parliament, Government, IFIs, EU Delegation to Georgia and Diplomatic Corps as well as private sector leaders from different industries including Food processing, Finance, Infrastructure, Tourism, Renewable energy, Logistics, and Agriculture.
The Conference was opened by the Chairman of the European Business Association John Braeckeveldt. Welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee David Songulashvili and Italian Ambassador to Georgia Enrico Valvo, Director at ProCredit Bank Zeinab Lomashvili, General Manager of Pullman Hotel Vincent Dujardin, Managing Partner at Rentals LLC Zurab Eristavi.
Participants had a unique opportunity to receive information regarding investment opportunities for EU and Caucasus firms through participation in Multilateral Development Bank tenders and other business opportunities directly from the Heads of IFIs – the Head of the Regional Representation of the EIB for the South Caucasus Maciej Czura; The EBRD Regional Director for South Caucasus Catarina Bjorlin Hansen; World Bank’s South Caucasus Procurement Team Leader Sepehr Fotovat.
Invited expert from Italy, Luca Costa Sanseverino (Victoria Consultants) provided participants with valuable insight into the Dos and Don’ts of Successful Bidding for IFI Projects and moderated the panel discussion between the invited speakers.
The event was organized by the EBA within the framework of the Project “Promoting European Business and Economic Interests in Georgia” supported by the European Union, in cooperation with EIB, EBRD and World Bank.
