As part of the European Business Association’s #ebahospitality spotlight series, we connect with leaders shaping world-class guest experiences across Georgia’s vibrant coastal region.
In this feature, we speak with Patrick Naughter, General Manager of Hilton Batumi, about his lifelong passion for global exploration, what continues to surprise European travelers visiting Georgia, and how Hilton Batumi blends global standards with authentic Black Sea warmth.
What sparked your initial fascination with hospitality, and what is your favorite part of welcoming guests from across the globe?
Patrick Naughter: “When I was a child of perhaps 8 or 9, I discovered an atlas amongst the children’s encyclopedias that my parents bought for my sister and me. Since that time I wanted to see the world, plus I’ve always enjoying being with people and sharing experiences. And here we are! I love to give my personal recommendations of restaurants or must-see locations that are not on the beaten tourist trail. Special moments that create lasting memories.”
From your perspective in Batumi, what makes Georgia such a captivating destination for European visitors today?
“Georgia has a way of surprising people. Many guests arrive without knowing exactly what to expect, and they leave talking about the incredible food, breathtaking nature and, most of all, the warmth of the people they meet. It’s a country where you can experience the mountains, the sea, vibrant cities and centuries of history, all within a single trip. Now is the perfect time to visit because Georgia feels authentic – you can discover places that aren’t on every travel bucket list yet and create memories that are truly your own.”
How does Hilton Batumi create an exceptional getaway for international travelers exploring the Black Sea coast?
“What makes Hilton Batumi special is the balance between the comfort of a trusted international brand and the warmth of genuine Georgian hospitality. Many European travelers choose Hilton because they know what level of quality to expect, but what often surprises them is how personal the experience feels. Our team love to share local recommendations, taking care of the little details, and making every guest feel truly welcome. Combined with our location on the Black Sea, it’s a place where guests can relax, explore Batumi, and leave with memories that go beyond the hotel itself.”
The European Business Association thanks Patrick Naughter for sharing his inspiring journey and for his dedication to advancing coastal tourism in Ajara.
